Use criteria/Cardiovascular disease

NRT is not an independent risk factor for acute myocardial events. However, it should be used with caution among those in the immediate (within 2 weeks) postmyocardial infarction period, those with serious arrhythmias, and those with serious or worsening angina pectoris.

Bupropion is generally well tolerated by cardiovascular disease patients; there have been infrequent reports of hypertension in those who use it.
